Scholars from Myanmar and abroad will convene at SSBU to present research and engage in academic discourse concerning the significant contributions of key figures in the propagation and practice of Buddhism. (Participation limited to registered attendees)

We are pleased to invite you to participate the 11th International Conference on “The Endeavours of Prominent Figures in Teaching and Practicing Buddhism,” which will be held on 7-8 November 2024 at Shan State Buddhist University (SSBU), Taunggyi, Shan State, Republic of the Union of Myanmar. This conference is a significant event in honour of the 60th Birthday Anniversary of the Most Venerable Oxford Sayadaw Prof. Dr. Khammai Dhammasāmi, the Founder and Rector of SSBU. This event will bring together leading experts, scholars, and educators from all around the world to discuss the great effort of respective leaders in contribution and practices of the Buddha’s teaching from ancient to the present-day. The conference centres on Work and Life of Prominent Figures in Propagating Buddhism; The Spread of Buddhist Meditation; Buddhist Approach to Teaching and Learning; and Buddhist Meditation Techniques.
